About Me: I'm brand new to the military.

I am a mother of 3 and a step-mom of 2. I just got married in June of 2007 to a wonderful man and soldier that I love very much. I love being a army wife.

My husband just deployed for 15 months. It's been hard and tough since he's left.
He's been in the military for 20 years and been to Iraq already but this will be my first deployment since I've been with him.

I have a nursing background. Right now I'm busy volunteering and being an FRG Leader.

hey there hun.. me and the family are fine. had some pretty hairy moments when the malibu fires started happening since we live just fifteen minutes from there off the coast. we got mostly the high winds, 50 mph, the smoky air, and alot of the free floating ash that covered some of our trees. we lost a 12 foot section of fence from the wind. its going to take a few weeks for repair crews to get around to everyone. the costliest part of our damage was to our wrought iron gazebo which bent from the wind and toppled over. most of the pieces cant be fixed. :( i am thankful that was all that happened during this whole time. i feel sorriest for the people returning home, not knowing if their house or memories were in tact.

how come you husband didnt take you with him? or was he going straight to his ship from his parents house?

just keep busy hun. thats what i did. thats all anyone can do when they go out to sea.

still trying to find a job. ive had a few interviews but no one wants me :( sighs. i thought for sure i had t his one in the bag.. it was for a receptionist job at our beauty parlor. they needed someone to schedule appointments, etc, all the stuff i was trained to do at the USO.

anyhoo.... dont hesitate to write hun if you need to vent to someone. im a good listener.

take care
christina
